United Nations Headquarters

Founded in 1945, the United Nations remains the central forum where 193 member states come together to address global challenges and shape shared solutions. Located along the East River in Manhattan, the UN Headquarters is a symbol of diplomacy, offering visitors guided tours and an inside look at one of the world’s most important international organizations.

The United Nations General Assembly is usually held during the third week of September each year. That week sees a buzz of activities in NYC, with international Heads of States and government officials followed closely by US Secret Service agents and security personnel, passing through the streets of Midtown Manhattan's east side.
